  • Researching African and Roman cultures.
  • Creating a design based on these cultures
  • Textile designers

  • Three hand embroidery stitches; chain stitch, stem stitch and French knot
  • Using a sewing machine for decorative embroidery using the freehand embroidery footer

  • Sewing Ribbon and braids onto Fabric
  • Lacing and Eyelets using Grommets
  • using the correct foot sew an invisible zip

  • Shading/ombre using felting relevant to their design
  • Sewing the bag pieces together
 

How we support learning:

 

  • Each student is given individual attention times which vary according to each student’s ability and understanding of the topic she is studying.
  • Students are always welcomed outside of the classroom as necessary.
  • Lower ability students have teacher support where necessary.
Students vary with their ability and are encouraged individually to extend their knowledge according to their level, to produce work of a higher standard.
