Limmudei Kodesh (Jewish Studies)

Jewish Studies is an integral part of our Sixth Form Curriculum. Students are taught a diverse range of subjects in the Sixth Form with lessons becoming ever more integrative and immersive. As part of our aim to prepare our students for their future lives, the Jewish Studies Curriculum supports our students in developing the skills needed to enter the range of seminaries that our students attend each year, upon completing their Sixth Form journey. Furthermore, our Jewish Studies curriculum instils in our students the knowledge and understanding of Jewish law and tradition that they require to live their future lives as Jewish women. Our Jewish Studies curriculum incorporates many aspects of PSHE/RSE taught in a culturally sensitive way whilst still affording our students the opportunity to ask questions in an open and non-judgemental environment.  Above all, promoting respect and tolerance for all, is a key component of all Jewish Studies lessons and an important element of preparing our students for their future lives in modern Britain.

Individualised support is offered one to one to every student, mentoring them and preparing seminary applications, practicing interview techniques and writing personal statements.

Our students participate in a twice daily tefilloh (prayer) session within which they are given opportunity to practice their public speaking. Yr. 12 and Yr. 13 students participate in weekly oratory sessions, which seek to prepare them for their future lives by instilling self-confidence and public speaking skills.
