Assessment:

  • Ongoing questioning during lessons and during starter and plenary of lessons.
  • Verbal feedback on projects completed in class.
  • Filling in blanks and completing Exercise labs throughout each chapter helps learners master the skills learned
  • Exercise Labs to master the practical skills learned
  • Learners complete an “in-app” assessment at the end of every chapter. They then prepare for final assessment through practise tests.
  • Final assessment is done online as an in-app test.

How we support learning:

  • Verbal feedback on all assessments including targets for improvement
  • Online Feedback from “In-app” testing allows pupils to identify and recognise their weak points and work to improve them.
  • Providing more detailed written guidance for lower ability students
  • Offering individual teacher support in the classroom as required
  • Provide personalised support outside the classroom as necessary
  • Higher ability students are provided with extension tasks, which enable them to produce work of a higher standard.

How parents can support learning:

  • Provide access to personal computer at home with appropriate software
  • Encourage computer use at home
  • Support homework activities for other subjects using computer
  • Encourage learners to try out new designs in their spare times to become more competent in skills learned
